Chhapaak Star Deepika Padukone Becomes an Investor in Greek Yoghurt Brand Epigamia

It is not a very uncommon phenomenon when Bollywood celebrities invest in a business, which is outside the entertainment world. Stepping into a new arena, the leading lady of B-town, Deepika Padukone has become an investor in a start-up organisation. Deepika has made an undisclosed amount of investment in Drum Foods International – popular for its yoghurt brand Epigamia. The company, aided by the investment of Deepika, plans to accelerate its growth. Drum Foods International has earned a big name in Greek yoghurts and smoothies. It has also become a favourite dairy product in many houses in India. The company was founded by Rohan Mirchandani, chef Ganesh Krishnamurthy, Rahul Jain, and Uday Thakkar. The investment made by the Padmaavat actor is a part of the Series C raise, which produced over $25 million investment in January.

Talking about Deepika, this is not her first investment in the Indian startup industry. On the work front, the Piku actor is currently shooting for her upcoming film Chhapaak. Helmed by Meghna Gulzar, the movie marks Deepika’s debut in the field of production. Chhapaak revolves around the real-life events of an acid attack survivor Laxmi. Also starring Vikrant Massey in the lead role, the movie is slated to hit the theatres in 2020.
