Deepika Padukone has been in the headlines since yesterday and not because of her upcoming film Chhapaak's release but because of her visit to JNU after the recent attack on students and teachers at the university. The actress took a big risk in showing up at JNU and standing in solidarity with the students given that her film is up for release on January 10. After Deepika's visit to the university, several people even called a boycott on her film but the maiden producer and lead star of Chhapaak seems to have made her point and is in no fear. Deepika stunned in a gorgeous shimmery blue saree at the premiere and was accompanied by husband Ranveer Singh. The premiere also saw her posing along with director Meghna Gulzar and co-star Vikrant Massey. Among celebrities, Swara Bhasker, Rekha, Arbaaz Khan and his girlfriend Giorgia Andriani were seen attending the premiere. Chhapaak is one of the most-anticipated films of the year and Deepika's fans are super-excited for the film considering this is her first release since Padmaavat. The film stars Deepika in the role of an acid attack survivor and is based on the life of real-life survivor, Laxmi Agarwal. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film will be hitting the screens on January 10 and will be clashing with Ajay Devgn's Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.
