Chhapaak releases on January 10, 2020. It is the first big release of the new year along with Ajay Devgn's Tanhaji The Unsung Warrior. Chhapaak is the story of acid attack victims with Laxmi Aggarwal's case being in the epicenter. It has Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey in key roles. Today, the actress released a new promo from the film which exposes a reality that is dreadful and scary. Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak Gets ‘U’ Certificate From CBFC, Meghna Gulzar’s Film to Release Without Any Cuts

Vikrant says in the promo how acids are sold at lower rates than even soft drinks. Deepika later adds, "Agar milta nhi to phikta nhi." The stark reality in both statements is highly disturbing. One is stating a fact which is really upsetting while the other is going through its aftermath, dreaming of an ideal world. Chhapaak if done right, could be one of the most inspiring tales of a woman who braved something as dreadful as an acid attack.

Chhapaak is Deepika Padukone's first foray into production. Hopefully, the film will be able to make the most of it at the box office. This will completely rest on word of mouth though.
