After taking a massive opening at the Indian box office, Hollywood superhero film Captain Marvel performed brilliantly over the first weekend and ended up raking in Rs 40.71 crore. However, on Monday, the film witnessed a dip in the collections but managed to earn a decent amount of money. Then on Tuesday, day 5, Brie Larson starrer held up well at the box office and collected Rs 4.50 crore. Captain Marvel maintained a good run on day 6 as well and minted another Rs 3.70 crore according to entertainment and trade website Koimoi.comBox Office: 'Captain Marvel' Inches Close to Rs 50 Crore in India.

So as of now, the total box office collection of the Hollywood release stands at Rs 54.41 crore in India which is quite impressive. The superhero flick released on March 8 alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu's highly anticipated film Badla. Though both the films came out simultaneously, it hardly affected their business at the ticket windows. Even Badla, which is directed by Sujoy Ghosh, is enjoying a good run at the box office currently.

In fact, quite a few films are running in theatres at the moment and all of them are minting money which is surprising but at the same time good for the film industry. Ajay Devgn's multi-starrer film Total Dhamaal is one of them which has got cash registers ringing at the BO. Another film that's drawing the crowd to the cinema halls is Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon's rom-com Luka Chuppi. Captain Marvel Floors Wonder Woman! Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt's Gully Boy is also in theatres along with Vicky Kaushal's blockbuster Uri: The Surgical Strike. With so many films tasting success at the BO, this year is certainly off to a fabulous start.
