Two new releases arrive this Friday in Bollywood. There is Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety that rides on the guy humour success of the Pyaar ka Punchnama series, Early reports mention that the movie will get this year's second highest box office opening after Padmaavat. There is also Welcome to New York, an experimental comedy starring Diljit Dosanjh and Sonakshi Sinha, that has been promoted badly and therefore will open averagely.

So where does the older releases stand? Padmaavat is still on a steady run, having earned a bit more than Rs 280 crore till yesterday. But 2018's two other big releases, Akshay Kumar's PadMan and Sidharth Malhotra's Aiyaary, are struggling to make much of an impact.

PadMan still has a better deal as the social drama crossed Rs 75 crore mark yesterday. But the movie is on a steep slope and may never reach Rs 100 crore mark. As of now the movie has collected Rs 76.65 crore, per trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

Meanwhile, Aiyaary is a total washout, The spy thriller, directed by Neeraj Pandey, stars Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee. Marred by release date delays and poor reviews, Aiyaary fails to sustain itself at the box office. Here's how the movie has performed at the box office,

With two new releases this week, and Anushka Sharma's Pari coming out next Friday, it looks like a lost race for Aiyaary. As for PadMan, well, let's hope Akshay Kumar earns his Rs 100 crore badge with Gold.
