Both Notebook and Junglee - the two big releases of this week - have gotten off to a slow start. The former, which stars Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl, has been backed by Salman Khan's production venture. As for Junglee, it has Vidyut Jamwal in the lead along with Pooja Sawant and Asha Bhatt. The film has been helmed by well-known Hollywood directed Chuck Russell but it seems the action adventure is going to have a tough time to get cash registers ringing at the box office. In fact, the scenario is pretty same with Notebook. Notebook Movie Review: The Kids Steal the Show in Pranutan Bahl and Zaheer Iqbal’s Love Story.
According to BollywoodHungama, during the morning shows, Junglee witnessed 10% occupancy which is very low. But Zaheer and Pranutan's film had a much harder time to find an audience as its occupancy was negligible. With both the films getting off to a slow start, it's very much unlikely that the would pick up pace over the weekend. Both the films have opened to not-so-great reviews. Plus, quite a few films are currently dominating at the box office. Akshay Kumar's Kesari is at the forefront followed by Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer Badla.
Also, Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon's romantic comedy Luka Chuppi is still in theatres minting money. So Notebook and Junglee will find it difficult to stay afloat at the box office. And with more films releasing next week, the competition will only get fierce at the ticket windows. Junglee Movie Review: Vidyut Jammwal Tries too Hard to Save This Average Jungle Drama.
Anyway, let's wait and watch what happens till then. If Notebook and Junglee manage to survive then good for their respective teams but if they don't then we won't be surprised either.
