Currently, while a lot of films are minting money at the Indian box office, two new movies arrived in the cinema halls today. Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao starrer Judgementall Hai Kya has finally released after courting quite a few controversies alongside Arjun Patiala which features Kriti Sanon and Diljit Dosanjh in the lead. The former had generated good pre-release buzz and had also left everyone impressed with its trailer. Arjun Patiala, on the other hand, hardly created any noise despite having a well-known star cast. And therefore trade pundits obviously predicted that Judgementall Hai Kya would fare better at the ticket windows. Well, that is exactly what has happened. According to reports, Kangana and Rajkummar's quirky thriller is off to a decent start as it witnessed better occupancy during the morning shows than Kriti and Diljit's romantic spoof. As per Boxofficeindia.com, "The opening of the Hindi films is not up to the mark. Arjun Patiala has a poor 5-10% opening while Judgementall Kya Hai is better at 15-20%. The latter has a more defined target audience of the metros and when films don't have much face value with stars then this target audience gives it a chance."
However, Hollywood biggie The Lion King is the one that's still dominating the box office in India. Talking about the same, BOI further reported, "The Lion King continued to dominate the box office as it had higher morning occupancy than the two new Hindi releases Arjun Patiala and Judgementall Hai Kya. The Lion King is looking at a very strong second weekend and will easily be the top film this week." Arjun Patiala Movie Review: Diljit Dosanjh and Kriti Sanon’s Spoof Comedy Is Painfully Unfunny!
Since Kangana and Rajkummar's second film has mostly garnered rave reviews from the critics, it should definitely pick up the pace over the first weekend despite facing competition from Disney's live-action animated film The Lion King.
