Box Office Prediction: Will Sonakshi Sinha Redeem Herself at the Box Office With Khandaani Shafakhana? Find Out!
Sonakshi Sinha was last seen in Karan Johar's magnum opus Kalank alongside Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt. Despite a stellar star cast and being a big-budget film, Kalank failed to get cash registers ringing and badly tanked at the box office.
So far the year has been quite successful for Bollywood with films like Uri - The Surgical Strike, Kabir Singh, Gully Boy, and many others doing well at the Indian box office. Interestingly, two B-town hunks also made a comeback at the box office with a bang. Shahid Kapoor dished out his first solo blockbuster in the form of Kabir Singh whereas Super 30 has turned out to be the fourth-highest grossing film of Hrithik Roshan's career. Keeping all these factors in mind, there is a possibility that even Sonakshi Sinha may just redeem herself at the box office with her new film Khandaani Shafakhana. However, if the trade experts are to believed then Sona's hatke movie won't be able to pack a solid punch at the ticket windows and that's disappointing to hear. While its good to see that the B-town beauty has finally done a socially relevant film, sadly Khandaani Shafakhana has hardly created any buzz or excitement amongst the masses. And that's one big reason why the film won't witness a big opening at the domestic box office.
Sonakshi starrer is expected to earn between Rs 1 to 2 crore on the opening day. But if the film manages to garner good reviews from the critics and also impresses the audience during the morning shows then the collections could go up to Rs 3 crore. Having said that, Khandaani Shafakhaana will have a tough at the box office as Hollywood action flick Hobbs and Shaw is also releasing tomorrow in India. The spin-off of Fast & Furious starring Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, and Idris Elba in the lead is predicted to perform well on the first day than Sonakshi's comedy-drama. In fact, the movie could take a double-digit opening if all goes well. If that happens then Khandaani Shafakhana will definitely struggle to find a good holding at the BO.
