Diwali is one of the most important festivals for Bollywood as it guarantees good return. You have to be extremely wrong in your job to mess that up and it seems, this Diwali will end up like that. Housefull 4, Made In China and Saand Ki Aankh released this Friday and all three of them have disappointed, if early estimates are anything to go by.
As per Trade Expert Sumit Kadel, Housefull 4 has earned below par collections on day 1. While he had predicted Rs 20 crore, the film apparently has managed only Rs 15-16 crore. As for the rest of the films, things are sad even with them.Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 4, Rajkummar Rao’s Made in China, Taapsee Pannu-Bhumi Pednekar’s Saand Ki Aankh – Ranking Diwali 2019 Bollywood Releases From Worst to Best!
I predicted ₹ 20 cr opening for #Housefull4 where many predicted more than 24 cr for day-1 . Film collected even lower than my expectation on Friday. Early estimates are approx ₹ 15-16 cr nett. Not only dhanteras, poor audience response also restricted its evening growth.

#SaandKiAankh & #MadeinChina both had a very poor opening.
SKA Day 1- ₹ 70 lakhs approx.
MIC Day 1- ₹ 90’Lakhs aprrox.
Monday collection would decide their fate, very difficult to cover their ground now after such a bad opening day collection.

You might argue that pre-Diwali, people tend to go to theatre less because this is a festival that is celebrated by decorating the houses and doing pooja at home. Even then, Housefull 4 has little chances of getting a huge boost because the reviews are extremely bad. People are writing odes on how terrible the film is. That might become detrimental to Housefull 4's box office numbers.
