This week, three Bollywood movies came out and sadly, none of them managed to make an impression at the box office. So there was Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Fanney Khan, Irrfan Khan and Dulquer Salmaan's Karwaan and Rishi Kapoor and Taapsee Pannu's Mulk releasing on August 2. All the three belonged to different genres, and had managed to create a good impression with their promotional buzz. Or did they?
When it comes to critical consensus, Karwaan and Mulk fared well, while Fanney Khan got negative reviews. But when it comes to the box office, all the three movies are performing equally poor. As per the report in Box Office India, the least grossing of them all is Mulk, which grossed just Rs 3.8 crore in just two days. Fanney Khan proved slightly better, getting collections of Rs 4 crore in two days.
The best of them lot, with not much of a margin, is Karwaan, who grossed about Rs 4.25 crore, as per BOI. That's hardly surprising since it is the light-hearted of them all, and people are curious to see Dulquer's Bollywood debut. Not much, though!
There is, however, a chance that Mulk and Karwaan have a chance to make their business grow better in the days ahead, based on word-of-mouth publicity.
