The cult 1987 film, Mr India, has been ruling the hearts of the cine-goers since a long time now! Sridevi and Anil Kapoor took the flick to the next level with their flawless acting, under the direction of Shekhar Kapur and production of Boney Kapoor. Now, Boney plans to create the rehash of the same film, only to later convert it into a franchise. He also stated that Sridevi's untimely demise makes it all the way necessary for him to take this project ahead! Mr India Turns 32! Boney Kapoor told Midday, "The idea is to create a reboot first, and then, make a franchise of it. It needs to be made more contemporary. We have a basic structure in mind. We haven't decided on a timeline yet, but intend to make it soon."

Speaking of the iconic characters in the movie, he said, "Amrish Puri as Mogambo was a masterstroke; he brought the character alive. While Sri was considered a glamorous star earlier, the audience's perception of her changed after Mr India — then on, she was seen as a powerful actress. Anil too became more legitimate a performer with the film. After Sri, I have even more reason to make the film now."

The producer also hinted that the cast will be inclusive of new actors in it but the old cast and crew including director, Shekhar, can happily be a part of it. We wonder if Janhvi Kapoor or Khushi Kapoor will be a part of this all-time favourite movie of all the fans of "Hawa Hawai" sensation. Of course, no one can take away what the late legendary actress has given to the film, and her sizzling on-screen chemistry with Anil Kapoor.
