Bollywood Actress Molestation Case: Mumbai Court To Decide on Framing POCSO Charges Against Accused Vikas Sachdeva on September 1
Last year, the popular Bollywood actress had shared the ordeal in a video that was later posted on social media.
The case of minor Bollywood actress who accused of molestation in flight in 2017, has gone a step ahead. The Dindoshi session court will decide on September 1that whether the charges framed by the actress against the co-passenger will be charged against him or not. Accused person Akhil Sachdeva’s lawyers and the prosecutors argued on Tuesday in regards to the case. The court has now decided to take a call on the accusations made.
Advocates HS Anand and Adnan Shaikh, Sachdeva’s lawyers argued that the age proof given by the actress is not valid. They claimed that she has just provided the Aadhar card as the proof which cannot be ‘technically’ taken into the consideration. “The intent of a person has to be seen. The accused person was sleeping behind her. He did not have any intention of molesting her,” said HS Anand.
Last year, the popular Bollywood actress had shared the ordeal in a video that was later posted on social media. She accused that person who reportedly was seated behind her in the flight, moved his foot up and down her neck and back. The viral video caught the attention of the fans and soon there was nationwide condemnation against this alleged incident. Sachdeva, on the other hand, denied the allegations saying that he had returned from a funeral and was asleep in the flight. However, he was arrested by under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code. Later, he was granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 25,000. The said date will now decide whether he will be charged as guilty.
