Irrfan Khan's black comedy Blackmail has been getting some really good reviews from the critics, after it was released last Friday. The movie was directed by Abhinay Deo, and also stars Kirti Kulhari, Arunoday Singh, Gajraj Rao and Omi Vaidya. Blackmail has also been getting really good word-of-mouth publicity from the audiences who are loving the crazy twists and the black humour.
However, at the box office the movie is making slow progress. collecting Rs 6.66 crore in two days. Unlike a masala entertainer like Baaghi 2, Blackmail belongs to a niche genre and therefore we can't expect the same kind of pace of collections as we got from Tiger Shroff's movie. Popular trade analyst Taran Adarsh has this to say about the movie's collections, "#Blackमेल witnessed 37.01% GROWTH on Day 2... Biz was affected, to an extent, by the commencement of #IPL2018... Will have to score on Sun... Biz has to multiply for a respectable weekend total... Fri 2.81 cr, Sat 3.85 cr. Total: ₹ 6.66 cr. India biz." Well, that's true, the IPL will definitely play spoilsport.

Blackmail is about a husband (Irrfan Khan) who comes early from office to surprise his wife (Kirti Kulhari), only to find her in bed with her lover (Arunoday Singh). Instead of confronting them, he use the situation to blackmail the lover, only to create a Domino effect where he himself gets trapped.
