Vijay Karnik from my upcoming directorial film #BhujThePrideOfIndia . #14Aug2020.” This upcoming flick revolves around the 1971 Indo-Pak war and Vijay Karnik was in-charge of the Bhuj airbase. With the help of 300 local women Vijay Karnik and his team repaired the IAF airbase that had been wrecked in air strikes. The then Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik while interacting to the Asian Age recalled the incident and also mentioned how happy he was to see Ajay Devgn playing his role on the big screen. He was quoted as saying, “We were fighting a war and if there had been any casualties of any of these women, it would have been a great loss. But I took the decision and it worked out. I had briefed them where they could take shelter if attacked and they followed it bravely. Also, I could only see Ajay Devgn essaying my character and I’m glad that he’s on board.” Bhuj: The Pride of India is all set to hit the screens a day before Independence Day 2020, August 14.
