Mere days before the release of Bharat, the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif-starrer found itself facing a problem most of the big-budget movies face these days - a threat on its release. In the case of Bharat, the problem was with its name. There was a PIL (public interest litigation) filed in the Delhi High Court demanding a stay on the release. The reason? Apparently, the petitioner claims that the title 'Bharat' is hurting the patriotic sentiments. Will Salman Khan's Bharat Undergo a Title Change? PIL Filed Against the Film in Delhi High Court Says the Film's Title Hurts Patriotic Sentiments.
The petition was filed under the claim that the movie violates Section 3 Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act. Previously Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam II also faced a similar charge when a poster used the National Flag in it.
The Delhi High Court, however, has ruled in the favour of the Salman Khan-starrer and has dismissed the petition on June 3, as per a report in ANI.

Bharat is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, who had previously made blockbusters like Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. The movie also stars Disha Patani, Tabu, Sunil Grover, Jackie Shroff and Sonali Kulkarni. At the box office, Bharat is expected to take off to a flying start, though the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and X-Men film Dark Phoenix might steal some of its spotlight.
