Bharat Box Office Collection Day 5: Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif Starrer Has a Thunderous Opening Weekend, Rakes in Rs 150.10 Crore
Salman's Bharat is on its way to become the second highest grossing film of the year.
Despite India's world cup match against Australia on Sunday, Salman Khan's Eid release Bharat fared well at the ticket windows and raked in good money. The period drama which is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar was expected to perform well at the box office, however, what's really impressive is the fact that the movie's business hasn't suffered hugely at the BO because of the ongoing 2019 Cricket World Cup. Guess that just shows that Bhai's superstardom is only getting bigger by the day. Co-starring Katrina Kaif and Sunil Grover in the lead, Bharat arrived in theatres on June 5 and set the box office on fire by minting Rs 42.30 crore on day 1. Bharat Box Office Collection Day 4: Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif's Film Swiftly Enters 100-Crore Club, Mints Rs 122.2 Crore
Salman and Katrina starrer thereafter continued its good run at the ticket windows and yesterday Bharat even surpassed the Rs 150 crore mark at the domestic box office. Announcing the same, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the microblogging site Twitter and wrote, "#Bharat Wed 42.30 cr, Thu 31 cr, Fri 22.20 cr, Sat 26.70 cr, Sun 27.90 cr. Total: ₹ 150.10 cr. India biz... After a glorious start, #Bharat needs to score on weekdays... Mon-Thu biz will give an idea of lifetime biz... Will emerge second highest grosser of 2019 today [Day 6]."
While Bharat has already become the biggest opener of Salman's career, the film is now set to beat Akshay Kumar's Kesari and Ajay Devgn's multi-starrer Total Dhamaal in the box office race. While the former is the second highest grossing film of the year, the latter is third on the list. Bharat Box Office Collection Day 3: Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Film Rakes In Rs 22.20 Crore on Friday
Though Khan's Eid release will easily leave behind these two films, it would be interesting to see whether it manages to surpass the lifetime collection of Vicky Kaushal's Uri - The Surgical Strike which is currently the highest grossing film of 2019.
