Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bharat, which opened to a bumper start on Wednesday (June 5) earning Rs 42.30 crore at the box office on the first day, witnessed a 25 percent drop on the third day of its release. Moreover, Bharat has triumphed over several other Bollywood releases of this year and has become the biggest opener of 2019. It dethroned Sooraj Barjatya's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (Rs 40.35 crore) to become the biggest opener of Salman's career. Now, Bharat has, however, managed to maintain its grip at the ticket windows. Earlier today, Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the micro-blogging site to share the box-office numbers. He wrote on Twitter, "#Bharat maintains a grip on Day 3 [Fri]... Mass circuits remain strong, while some circuits faced normal decline after #Eid festivities... Should witness an upturn on Day 4 [Sat] and 5 [Sun]... Wed 42.30 cr, Thu 31 cr, Fri 22.20 cr. Talking about the movie, our in-house film critic Sreeju Sudhakaran wrote in his review, "Bharat's strengths lie in its emotional scenes, Salman Khan's swag-ado and Katrina Kaif's confident screen-presence. And unless you are a Bhai fan, you have a lot to nitpick with the rest of the film. Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Bharat revolves around the story of a son’s promise to his father during the 1947 India-Pakistan partition.
