In a major casting coup, the makers of Tamil superstar Chiyaan Vikram's yet-untitled 58th film have roped in cricketer and former Indian team player, Irfan Pathan, to play key roles in the movie. Tentatively named #ChiyaanVikram58, the movie is reportedly based around cricket and is directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu. Interestingly, another piece of news that came around the same time was that Irfan's former teammate, spinner Harbhajan Singh is also making his acting debut in Tamil with Dikkiloona, that stars Santhanam. Irfan Pathan Set to Start His New Innings on Silver Screen, Here's A Look at Other Indian Cricketers Who Also Pursued Career in Acting!

With two more cricketers taking acting as a profession, Harbhajan and Irfan join the elite club of Vinod Kambli, Salil Ankola, Ajay Jadeja, Kapil Dev, Navjot Singh Sidhu and Sunil Gavaskar. Though we have to add here, that this particular club didn't really have much of luck in their second profession.

Interestingly, Harbhajan's wife, Geeta Basra, is an actress herself, having been a part of movies like The Train and Dil Diya Hai. Harbhajan had already acted in a couple of Punjabi films like Bhaji in Problem and Second Hand Husband, the latter also starring his wife, Geeta. Moreover, both Harbhajan and Irfan had shared the screen in a Bollywood film, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, that came out in 2004. The David Dhawan film starred Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar in lead roles.

Harbhajan and Irfan appeared as themselves in the climax of this romantic comedy, the sequence being set around the start of a cricket match.

Apart from these two cricketers, the sequence also featured other popular cricketing names like Kapil Dev, Javagal Srinath, Mohammed Kaif, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Ashish Nehra and Parthiv Patel.
