Before ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ vs ‘Singham Again’ Clash, Ranking Box Office Collections of All ‘Third’ Movies of Bollywood Franchises From Lowest to Highest
With Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again clashing in theatres. let's look at Bollywood franchises of the past and how their 'third' movies have performed over the years from this century.
On November 1, Bollywood is seeing a major box office clash when Singham Again is releasing in theatres along with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Directed by Rohit Shetty, Singham Again is the third movie in the Singham series and the fifth film of his cop universe (that also includes Simmba and Sooryavanshi). Singham Again features an ensemble cast of Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Shweta Tiwari, Arjun Kapoor and Akshay Kumar. Salman Khan is reportedly having a cameo in the movie. ‘No Cameo Gimmicks’! Did Kartik Aaryan Fire Shots at Singham Again for Its Salman Khan Cameo in This Viral Clip? (Watch Video).
On the other hand, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, directed by Anees Bazmee, is the sequel to the 2022 hit horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Starring Kartik Aaryan in the lead, the movie also stars Madhuri Dixit Nene, Vidya Balan and Triptii Dimri.
Apart from their release dates, what's common between these two movies is that they are third in their titular franchises that originated as remakes of South movies (Singham is a remake of the Tamil film Singam, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa was a remake of the Malayalam film Manichitratazhu). ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ Box Office: Will Madhuri Dixit’s Dance-Off With Vidya Balan Prove Lucky for Kartik Aaryan-Starrer? Here’s Why We Think So!
Speaking of third films of franchises, Bollywood has seen its fair share of trilogies. Some of these franchises started off as hits, with each instalment turning out to be a bigger moneymaker than the previous, while there are other franchises that lose their sheen and money when the third part arrives. In this feature, we look at such 'third-parter' movies and how they performed at the box office in India. We have ranked them from the lowest-grossing movie to the highest, and what their eventual box office verdict was, regardless of the earnings.

So what do you think, readers? Will Singham Again and/or Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 manage to outgross Tiger 3, and break records in the process? Audiences are sure to love action franchises, and the cop universe has never seen a flop till now, while horror-comedies are the new hit formula thanks to Stree 2's mega success.
