After the success of Satyamev Jayate, fans have been excited to see John Abraham Batla House as he steps into the shoes of the DCP whose character is based on real-life personality. The film also starring Mrunal Thakur, Prakash Raj, Manish Choudhary and Ravi Kishan in pivotal roles, opened to decent reviews from the critics. The film has received positive responses mainly for its engaging storyline. Here's looking at some of the critics reviews for Johna's Batla House.

Pinkvilla: "Batla House is a movie made for those who want to revisit the pages of history. On the Independence Day, the police officers deserve a film like Batla House to remind us that there is a world in between the two extremes of ‘memes’ and the ‘hyper-national portrayal of the forces’."

Filmfare: Applauding John's performance, Filmfare wrote, "It's the court scenes which happen to be the most riveting portions of the film. Rajesh Sharma plays a super confident defence lawyer who initially shreds the case and keeps you on tenterhooks. John Abraham too comes into his own in the sequence as it is his counterarguments which convey the integrity of the police. It's one of the most challenging roles for John, who is shown to be suffering from PTSD in the film. His sincerity towards his portrayal should be applauded."

The Quint: While appreciating John Abraham's performance, The Quint pointed out that the film's lengthy runtime is a problem. They wrote, "At 146 minutes, the length of Batla House does pinch at times and other characters in the film hardly get a chance to develop, for example, the police officer KK played effectively by Ravi Kishan barely gets the screen time he deserves. Also, Mrunal Thakur who was superb in Love Sonia here seems visibly awkward."

Firstpost: Appreciating the supporting cast of the film and also Mrunal Thakur's performance, Firstpost wrote, "As Nandita, Mrunal Thakur provides the emotional pillar to what is otherwise a disorderly story about police procedure, institutional limitations, politicking and accountability. Performances by Kishan, Norah Fatehi, Alok Pandey and Sahidur Rahaman are also notable." Batla House: Here Are 5 Changes Made by the CBFC in John Abraham’s Action Drama.

All in all, John Abraham's Batla House has opened to average reviews with the majority of the critics pointing out its lengthy runtime as a major issue for its lack of impact. If you've watched Batla House, do comment and tell us how you found it.
