While Akshay Kumar's space drama Mission Mangal is heading towards Rs 100 crore club, John Abraham's latest offering Batla House, on the other hand, is eyeing to cross the Rs 50 crore mark at the Indian box office. Both the films arrived in cinema halls on Thursday, August 15, and despite the clash got cash registers ringing on day 1. While Akki's multi-starrer is way ahead in the box office race, Batla House is performing well at the domestic box office too. After raking over Rs 15 crore on the opening day, the action thriller did witness a normal drop on day 2, Friday. However, the movie picked up the pace once again on Saturday and collected Rs 10.90 crore by the end of day 3. Batla House Box Office Collection Day 2: John Abraham's Latest Outing Witnesses Normal Drop on Friday, Earns Rs 24.39 Crore
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the microblogging site Twitter a while back and revealed the updated figures saying, "#BatlaHouse shows substantial growth on Day 3... Has been appreciated and that is reflecting in its numbers, despite a strong opponent... Should witness solid growth today [Sun]... Thu 15.55 cr, Fri 8.84 cr, Sat 10.90 cr. Total: ₹ 35.29 cr. India biz." Batla House Box Office Collection Day 1: John Abraham's Action Thriller Fares Well Despite Competition From Mission Mangal, Mints Rs 14.59 Crore
Further, trade portal Boxofficeindia.com has reported that John's latest offering is trending much better than Satyameva Jayate which also hit the screens on Independence Day last year. While the business of Batla House is less than Satyameva Jayate in Maharastra, Andhra Pradesh, and CP/CI, the numbers are better in places like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Bangalore. And if the film manages to hold well on the crucial Monday then John starrer will definitely do well in the long run.
