Along with Akshay Kumar's Mission Mangal, John Abraham starrer Batla Hosue also released in theatres across India on August 15. Both the films took a double-digit opening and have been performing well at the box office since day 1. Batla House, which is based on a controversial real-life encounter case, is directed by Nikhil Advani and stars Mrunal Thakur opposite John. Though the movie failed to wow the critics, it has definitely impressed the audience and got cash registers ringing. On second Monday, the film stayed stable at the box office despite witnessing a fall in its collection. Till now, the action thriller has minted Rs 86.04 crore in India and is slowly inching towards the Rs 100 crore club. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter a while back and revealed the film's updated figures saying, "#BatlaHouse [Week 2] Fri 4.15 cr, Sat 6.58 cr, Sun 7.21 cr, Mon 2.26 cr. Total: ₹ 86.04 cr. India biz."
Further, according to Boxofficeindia.com, "Batla House was steady on Monday. The film dropped less on Monday compared to Mission Mangal as the boost for Janmashtami on Friday was also less. The film collected well on Tuesday with collections around the 2 crore nett mark and is heading for the second week of around 24 crore nett." Batla House, which is John and Nikhil Advani's second collaboration after Satyameva Jayati, has performed best in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The film has done good business in Mumbai and Bihar too. However, the numbers in Mumbai should have been better.
