Bajrangi Bhaijaan China Box Office Report Day 15: Salman Khan - Nawazuddin Siddiqui Starrer Movie Collects Rs 19.76 Crore

Not just in India, Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan is on a record-breaking spree in China too. After a dull third Friday, the film has picked up yet again. Bajrangi Bhaijaan collected around Rs 201 crore within two weeks of its release in China. The third week has kickstarted on a great note as the total collections now stand at Rs 221.47 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the official figures of the Salman Khan – Harshali Malhotra – Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer saying, “#BajrangiBhaijaan is eyeing $ 40 mn in China... After a low third Fri, the biz gathered momentum [yet again] on third Sat...[Week 3] Fri $ 0.93 mn Sat $ 2.02 mn Total: $ 34.07 million [₹ 221.47 cr]”

The Chinese audience seems to be mighty impressed with the content Bollywood has to share with them. No wonder after Dangal and Secret Superstar now Bajrangi Bhaijaan too has wooed the audience there. This has clearly opened new avenues for Bollywood movies in China considering the above mentioned films have fared so well.

The Kabir Khan directorial that originally released in 2015 opened to packed theatres upon its release in China on March 2, 2018. In fact, the overpouring love saw Bajrangi Bhaijaan earning a brilliant opening day box office collection, so much so that, it beat lifetime business of Aamir Khan’s 2009 film 3 Idiots in the country. With 8000 screens, Bajrangi Bhaijaan has already owned the record of being the biggest Bollywood movie release in China. Dangal and Secret Superstar released on 6000 and 5000 screens respectively.

The film, which also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, is about the story of a lost speech-impaired Pakistani girl child and her heart-warming relation with a Good Samaritan from India who has decided to reunite the girl with her family forms the crux of Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The film when released three years ago took the domestic box office by storm collecting Rs 320.34.
