Starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu in the lead, the film arrived in theatres yesterday and opened to rave reviews from the critics. Even on social media, everyone was lauding the film and hence the positive word of mouth worked in the favour of Big B starrer and it ended day 1 at the ticket windows with solid figures. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the microblogging site Twitter a while back and announced the good news. He wrote, "#Badla goes from strength to strength on Day 1... Picked up speed late afternoon onwards at metros, with appreciable growth in the evening... Strong word of mouth has come into play... Should witness substantial growth on Day 2 and 3... Fri ₹ 5.04 cr. India biz. Gross: ₹ 5.94 cr."

Adarsh also tweeted, "#Pink versus #102NotOut versus #Badla... Opening Day biz: 2019: #Badla ₹ 5.04 cr, 2016: #Pink ₹ 4.32 cr, 2018: #102NotOut ₹ 3.52 cr

India biz."

Further, trade portal Boxofficeindia.com noted, "Badla picked up well in the late afternoon and evening shows to record collections in the 5 crore nett range. The film hardly looked 4 crore nett in the morning but that was as it had nothing for the youth but the evening crowd did come for the film in the metros." Box Office Report: Captain Marvel Witnesses 45% Occupancy Whereas Badla Off to a Slow Start.

Now that Badla has fared well on day 1, Friday, it should continue to draw the audience over the weekend as well and should also earn a good amount of moolah in the first three days. However, it will be Monday that will be crucial for the film. So let's see whether it passes the Monday test with flying colours or not.
