SS Rajamouli's magnum opus Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has opened in China on May 4. The Prabhas-starrer is considered as India's most expensive movie till now, and also its highest grossing movie till date at the domestic box office. Overseas, the movie had taken a beating to Dangal which is currently the highest grossing Indian movie worldwide. Dangal owes its super collections to China, so Baahubali 2's China release could help change the tide in its favour.

In its opening weekend, Baahubali 2 has earned Rs 52 crore. It had made its debut at the third position on Friday, and had even made better figures than Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan on its first day. But the tide has reversed for the SS Rajamouli movie with the opening weekend figures, as Bajrangi Bhaijaan surges ahead. Overall, Baahubali 2 has earned Rs 1,768 crore worldwide. Dangal, meanwhile, had earned Rs 2,122 crore, the only Indian movie to touch the Rs 2000 crore worldwide.

However, China doesn't seem to have taken a liking for Baahubali as we have done. The movie has taken the lowest grossing weekend of all the Indian releases there in the last couple of years. With Avengers: Infinity War releasing next Friday, it will be a very uphill task for the movie to make some good impression ahead.

So what happened here? Is Baahubali 2 becoming a victim of China's over-exposure to India films? Or has the genre of fantasy-adventure not upto their liking? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
