Baaghi 2 Trailer: Kshanam, Rambo, Commando - 5 Movies Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani's Action Thriller Reminded Us Of
Baaghi 2 stars Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani in the lead. The movie will release on March 30.
So Baaghi 2 trailer is out, and it is how we expected a trailer of a movie starring Tiger Shroff would be. Made on a larger scale than the first Baaghi movie that came out in 2016, the sequel providea Tiger an even grander platform to showcase his action skills (as well as his brutally short hair). Disha Patani plays the female lead, stepping into Shraddha Kapoor's shoes in the first movie, and she, unfortunately, doesn't get much scope in the trailer. At least we got to see Shraddha kicking ass in the trailer of the first movie. Tiger also finds himself surrounded by some amazing actors in the movie in the form of Manoj Bajpayee, Randeep Hooda, Deepak Dobriyal and Darshan Kumar (there is Prateik Babbar too making funny faces).
While we know that the action sequences are safe in Tiger's hands, we have to see how he manages to hold himself in the histrionics department amidst these stalwarts. But if the movie can provide enough exhilarating action sequences, like the final helicopter sequence (suspiciously similar to Dwayne Johnson's crane jump in Skyscraper, but we will still give Tiger a benefit of doubt since both were shot around the same time. But the incline was totally wrong), everything else will be forgiven by fans.
Baaghi 2, like the original Baaghi, is not exactly original when it comes to content, though. Here are five movie we can easily draw parallels with when it comes to the trailer.
Kshanam
While the first Baaghi was quite similar to Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit's Tezaab, the sequel takes its plot from the Telugu movie, Kshanam, starring Adivi Sesh and Adah Sharma. It was also later remade into Tamil as Sathya, starring Sibi Sathyaraj. Both dealt with the theme of the protagonist trying to find the daughter of his estranged ex-girlfriend.
Commando
Then there is Arnold Schwarzenegger's '80s hit Commando, that has him play a military commando John Matrix trying to save his daughter from mercenaries.
Rambo series
Some of the action sequences look so inspired by Sylvester Stallone's Rambo series, that I wonder why Tiger would even bother to make a remake of the same (to be directed by Siddharth Anand).
Taken / Man on Fire
This might be a far-fetched originan, but the thread of trying to find a young girl by a concerned badass guardian will remind you of Liam Neeson's action vehicle Taken. And also of Denzel Washington's Man on Fire.
Headshot
Like Rambo, some of the other action sequences did remind us of this underrated Indonesian action flick, starring Iko Uwais of The Raid fame!
