Looks like the multi-faceted Ayushmann Khurrana has found his match in own wife when it comes to having multiple talents. Tahira Kashyap is turning into a mainstream film-maker with a yet-untitled slice-of-life drama. Tahira has earlier made a short film called Toffee that was produced by Ayushmann. As for her directorial debut, the movie is produced by T-Series and Ellipsis Entertainment's Tanuj Garg and Atul Kasbekar. The same production team had earlier collaborated for Vidya Balan's Tumhari Sulu and the upcoming Emraan Hashmi-starrer Cheat India.

The producers had issued a joint statement to the media, announcing the project, that read, "Tahira has worn several hats…. from being the programming head of a radio station in the North to a theatre writer-director, author, teacher of mass communication and journalism, and short film-maker. Her incredible stories are rooted in realism and heart. We are delighted to back her debut journey and look forward to making many more movies with her."

Tahira also shared her jubilation on handling such a big project as she said, “I am delighted to be working with such incredible partners to bring a take on urban existence to the big screen. It feels surreal that something I had dreamt of for the longest, is finally happening. I’ve been writing screenplays for five years. It wasn’t an easy ride for me. I’m glad that Ellipsis believed in me, and together with T-Series, has given me a platform to breathe life into my script. Her hubby shared a really supportive, loving message for her on Twitter. Ayushmann Khurrana wrote, "From writing books, plays, directing theatre productions to making a feature film now.
