As India continues to debate whether it deserves the top spot in Reuters' survey for the country most unsafe for women, a new incident reveals that neither celebs nor public are safe from atrocities, whether in real life or online. Actress Ayesha Takia, known for her roles in Dor, Wanted and Dil Maange More, has been getting threatening messages for the past few days on her phone.
And it's not just her, even her sister-in-law and mother-in-law are being targetted by these messages. If you think that being the daughter-in-law of politician and Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi will make the police take swift action against the culprits, well, that's not the case it seems. Ayesha's husband, Farhan Azmi, had taken to Twitter to accuse DCP Dahiya IPS of not taking action against the accused. As per a report in Times Now, the family doubts that the accused has something to do with an ongoing case of theirs, where Farhan’s business partner, Kashif Khan, has accused him of cheating.
My wife @Ayeshatakia , mother & sisters are being harassed, threatened stalked by a litigant, @MumbaiPolice #dcpDahiya refusing to answer my calls or messages. #DahiyaIPS has illegally frozen our bank accounts Dear PM @narendramodi ji @SushmaSwaraj Pls intervene!! #betibachao

Later, Farhan revealed on Twitter that he finally got a call from the police officials who assured him of taking appropriate measures.
Thank you @DevenBhartiIPS Ji #MumbaiPolice for stepping in. I trust the Mumbai Police. 3 rotten apples cannot spoil #theappletree @CPMumbaiPolice @MumbaiPolice

Let's hope that the police catch the culprit behind these messages and take swift action against him/them.
