The devastating Assam floods have been going from bad to worse with almost 33 districts have been affected by the floods. As per reports, the death toll on Tuesday reached 20 while 52 lakh people have been affected by incessant rains. The whole country has been praying for the situation to get better and everyone has been trying to do their bit by donating to the CM Relief fund. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has now stepped up for this duty as he took to Twitter to urge people to donate for Assam's relief and also announced his donation of 1 crore each for the CM Relief Fund & for Kaziranga Park rescue. The actor is known to be prompt when it comes to donating for a national crisis and in the past has also made contributions for Kerala floods as well as the Pulwama Attack survivors. Taking to Twitter, the actor wrote, "Absolutely heartbreaking to know about the devastation by floods in Assam. All affected, humans or animals, deserve support in this hour of crisis.I’d like to donate 1cr each to the CM Relief Fund & for Kaziranga Park rescue. Appealing to all to contribute."

Over 200 relief camps and as many as 562 distribution centres have been set up across the state to provide relief to the affected people. More and more people need to donate to help set up for the welfare of Assam and it is indeed commendable of Akshay Kumar to not only make a generous donation but also urge his fans to do the same. Apart from flooding in the districts, Ninety per cent of the Kaziranga National Park (KNP) in Golaghat and Nagaon districts is still submerged, said a statement from the Assam Ministry of Forest and Environment. It is important to contribute for KNP considering it is home to the world's largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses.
