Tweets from Article 15 LIFF premiere:
#Article15 is a balanced, hard-hitting & intriguing film. I call it #Bollywood’s response to ‘Mississippi Burning’. Ayushmann Khurrana puts his best foot forward as an actor. I feel it is Anubhav Sinha’s best work till date & here’s my full review which... https://t.co/PE41LTXnRR— Anuj Radia (@TheAnujRadia) June 21, 2019
Filmey Shilmy in their review talking about the Anubhav Sinha directorial wrote,"The subject matter of caste disparity is important to be addressed, regardless of whether one views it as a political film or as a procedural drama. Anubhav Sinha presents a very balanced narrative. He does not glorify one religion or political party over another, which is why the film works in its essence."
This is also the first time that Ayushmann is playing the role of a cop in a film. Speaking about his performance, the review mentions, "Ayushmann Khurrana, no doubt is a good performer. But with Article 15, he graduates as an actor. His body language, dialogue delivery, everything is on point as a police officer. But the good thing is that his role does not ooze of machismo."
BizAsia while calling the film a different kind of 'slice-of-life' wrote, "If you’re after an intense slice of life film (with not many light-hearted moments to break it up) which isn’t your average from the genre, ‘Article 15’ is a film that will make you question your own biases – conscious or otherwise – and it’ll also leave you wondering why in today’s generation a caste system is still in existence in mindsets." ‘Article 15’ Intends to Reach Out to Rural India, Says Ayushmann Khurrana.
The Anubhav Sinha directorial is all set to release on June 28 in India. Many have said Article 15 is the need of the hour. Looking at these reviews, we are now looking forward to catching the film soon.
