While Shahid Kapoor's biggest solo hit Kabir Singh is heading towards the Rs 250 crore mark in India, Ayushmann Khurrana's latest release Article 15 is on its way to enter the Rs 50 crore club. The crime drama is going rocky steady at the ticket windows and has been minting money without any trouble. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the movie is inspired by many true events and depicts the socio-political atmosphere of India in a hard-hitting manner. Article 15 released on June 28 and garnered fabulous reviews from the critics. And now its wooing the audience big time across India. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the popular microblogging site Twitter a while back and announced the updated figures. He wrote, "#Article15 crosses ₹ 40 cr mark... Continues its steady run at metros, which should help it cross ₹ 50 cr mark in coming days... [Week 2] Fri 2.65 cr, Sat 4 cr. Total: ₹ 40.86 cr. India biz."
Apart from Ayushmann, Sinha's directorial venture also stars Isha Talwar, Nassar, Manoj Pahwa, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in pivotal roles. Interestingly, Article 15 was not only selected to open the 10th edition of London Indian Film Festival but it also won the Audience Award at the prestigious event.
