Ayushmann Khurrana’s latest offering Article 15 is going strong at the Indian box office. The film has been in cinema halls for over two weeks now and its has already entered the Rs 50 crore club. In fact, Anubhav Sinha’s directorial venture will comfortably reach the Rs 60 crore mark in week 3. Based on Article 15 of the Indian constitution and inspired from true events, the crime drama released on June 28 and garnered rave reviews from all quarters. No wonder, it’s still pulling the crowd to the theatres. On third Saturday, Ayushmann starter registered a substantial growth as it added Rs 2.15 crore to its total figure. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the popular microblogging site Twitter a while back and revealed the updated figures. He wrote, “#Article15 jumps again... Inches closer to ₹ 60 cr... [Week 3] Fri 1.25 cr, Sat 2.15 cr. Total: ₹ 55.83 cr. India biz.”
Further, Boxofficeindia.com has reported, “Article 15 had huge growth of 90% plus on its third Saturday to take it past the 55 crore nett mark. Despite Hrithik Roshan’s highly anticipated film Super 30 arriving in theatres on Friday, Ayushmann starrer Article 15 continued its good run at the ticket windows. The film has been consistently performing well since day 1 and has therefore been declared a hit already. With that, Ayushmann has now delivered three successful films in a row - Andhahdun, Badhaai Ho and Article 15.
