Earlier, when Shahid was asked about the comparison, he was quoted saying, "I loved Vijay. So, you know if anybody says they loved Vijay, I feel happy because I felt the same. I can’t comment on my performance. So, let people decide what they feel."

Speaking of Shahid's performance in the flick, the critics are hailing it to be one of his career-best performances till date. His role as the lover and self destructive personality has gone down well with the audience.
