MC Mary Kom has created history at the Women's World Championships by securing her sixth gold medal. After defeating Ukraine's Hanna Okhota by a brilliant score of a 5-0 decision in the 48kg light flyweight final, not only did Kom won her sixth gold medal but also created history to become the most successful boxer in the history of Women's World Boxing Championships.
Since her win, wishes have been pouring in for the boxer for with Narendra Modi, Sachin Tendulkar, Vijender Singh, Saina Nehwal, Mahesh Bhupathi, Suresh Raina and Anupam Kher tweeting their best wishes. Even Anushka Sharma took to Twitter to express her happiness for the successful victory of Mary Kom. She tweeted, "Congratulations Champ!! Mary Kom previously won gold in 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2010 and stood at a tie with Ireland's Katie Taylor with five gold medals. However, with her latest victory, she has surpassed Taylor's score. As she won her sixth gold medal, the 35-year-old Manipuri boxer said, "I would like to dedicate this win to my country."
