Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have been making the news lately for awakening the social responsibility in a man, littering the road. It all started when the Bollywood actress spotted a guy throwing plastic waste on the road. Anushka instantly schooled him on the whole episode and her cricketer husband posted its video on social media. As the couple asked the man to follow the #SwacchBharat campaign, people are lauding their move. Recently, Minister of State for Home Affairs, India, Kiren Rijiju also appreciated their stand and slammed the haters who called it a ‘cheap publicity stunt’ by the star couple.
The minister defended the couple saying,” C'mon, Virat & Anushka need publicity!! They would rather crave for privacy!! Our conduct reflects our mentality. Civic sense is social ethics and ethical behaviour doesn't come with wealth & education. Let's keep India clean. #SwachhBharat.” Check out the tweet here:

Earlier, Law & Justice, Information Technology Minister of India, Ravi Shankar Prasad too encouraged Virushka’s zeal to keep India clean. He tweeted, “Really appreciate the commitment of @AnushkaSharma for #SwachhBharat.” Check that video here:
Saw these people throwing garbage on the road & pulled them up rightfully. Travelling in a luxury car and brains gone for a toss. These people will keep our country clean? Yeah right! If you see something wrong happening like this, do the same & spread awareness. @AnushkaSharma pic.twitter.com/p8flrmcnba

Meanwhile, the guy and his mother are lashing out at Virat and Anushka for talking rudely and posting the video on public platform. The man’s mother posted a long note on Instagram stating how they have ruined the image of the son by making the video viral for their own ‘publicity’. Hence, Rijiju’w tweet. We hope that the citizens take some lessons from this incident, stop littering roads and avoid getting caught in a viral video to get shamed later!
