Anushka Manchanda: ‘We Wanted to Use All 5 Elements of Nature in my Single Don’t Be Afraid’

Anushka Manchanda is on cloud nine as the singer-songwriter is receiving some amazing responses for her single Don’t be Afraid. The single which has been in the offing for a couple of years now gives out a beautiful message of. “From the soil, we have come, to the soil, we shall go.” Her song also has a video which is shot very beautifully.
While speaking about her single exclusively to LatestLY.com, Anushka said, “For about two years I was been planning to do something like this. My aim was to do something that we believed in. Many ideas were discussed for the video but we finally zeroed down on this. I wanted to show how connected are we to nature and thus used all 5 elements in the video. We also studied the perception of death in different cultures and that’s how we put together the video.” The team took about 7-8 months to complete the shooting and editing of the song.
Anushka also admitted that there were people who told her that the song was too intense to be understood by the audiences. “I told them that it was not right to question the intelligence of the audience. A few others said that having an English song would not create an impact but I truly believed in my concept.” The singer-songwriter has been active in the industry for more than a decade now. When asked if one needed to have many Bollywood projects to be successful in the industry to which she replied, “It is true to a large extent. Cricket and Bollywood are two things that work the most. There will be a crossover of audiences but to be a commercially successful artist, Bollywood projects are a must.”
The 34-year-old intends to release three singles this year. After finishing the promotions for Don’t Be Afraid, Anushka will go for her vacations. The Bezubaan Phir Se singer will soon start working on many other singles and wishes to collaborate with lot many artists.
