Anupam Kher Steps Down As Chairman Of Film And Television Institute Of India (FTII)
Actor Anupam Kher who is also the chairman of Film and Television Institute of India has resigned from his position in the committee.
Actor Anupam Kher who is also the chairman of Film and Television Institute of India has resigned from his position in the committee. Kher cited work commitments as the cause for his resignation. It is a known fact that Kher is currently working on an international television show, for which, he is currently stationed in the United States. As per his deal with the international TV show, the actor will probably live in the States for about nine months between 2018 and 2019 and a repeat of the same schedule for a minimum of three more years.
On the same, Kher took to Twitter and stated, It has been an honour, a privilege & a great learning experience to be the Chairman of the prestigious @FTIIOfficial. But because of my international assignments, I won’t have much time to devote at the institute. Hence decided to send my resignation. Thank you. 🙏 @Ra_THORe" He has addressed the same to the Information and Broadcasting Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore.
The actor's resignation letter has been accepted by the IB Minister, as per a few sources. Rathore also thanked Anupam Kher for his services as the chairman to the premier institute. The Accidental Prime Minister actor previously replaced Gajendra Chauhan as the chairman of the FTII after several controversial incidents that took the Pune-based institute by storm last year in October.
Anupam Kher recently wrapped up The Accidental Prime Minister where he played the controversial PM of India, Manmohan Singh. Apart from that, he is also working for American television show New Amsterdam. For the New Amsterdam show, the actor will have to shoot in New York, due to which, he is resigning from his position.
