If you read the news, or are on any social media, you should be at least mildly aware of the situations unfolding across the nation. Students of Jamia Millia Islamia University had to face the wrath of the Delhi police after, protests against the Citizenship Ammendment Act, allegedly, turned violent. Bollywood has a tendency to awfully be quiet over the matters as such. But today, many actors and filmmakers and other artists took to their social media to voice their opinion. Many outright condemned how the police has reacted to the situation. Many have asked for peaceful protests.
Earlier, usual vocals like Swara Bhasker and Konkona Sen Sharma had opened up about the matter at hand on Twitter. Now joining them are Anurag Kashyap, Rajkummar Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana, Jim Sarbh amongst others.
Rajkummar Rao was one of the first to tweet
I strongly condemn the violence that the police have shown in dealing with the students. In a democracy the citizens have the right to peacefully protest.I also condemn any kind of act of destruction of the public properties. Violence is not the solution for anything!

Yes.
Stand up against divisive politics, against Islamaphobia, against unconstitutional Acts, and state sponsored violence.

Vir Das also said something on similar lines
A large section of the entertainment industry is not going to stand with you, and I'm sorry about that. They're gonna try and make a profitable movie about you someday though.

कल जब जामिया विश्वविद्यालय की पुस्तकालय में घुसकर
बच्चों को तुम बेरहमी से पीट रहे थे

It's sad to see what's happening with the students around in our country, they are our future & it's our duty to protect them. We should handle such issues in a peaceful way & make sure that our public properties are not destroyed. #Violence is not a solution!

Bhumi Pednekar said this
Violence is not a tool to make our country better. We are a democracy and we have the power to exercise our fundamental rights in a rightful manner. What the students faced has shaken me and my heart goes out to them and I protest the way the situation was handled.
— bhumi pednekar (@bhumipednekar) December 16, 2019
But Bhumi also said this
However, I’m also shocked seeing how the protest turned violent. Let’s aim to make our country better through dialogue, debate and dissent and keep our faith in democracy alive.
