Anil Kapoor took to his Instagram account to share a video on Mubarakan's second anniversay. The actor was accompanied by Ileana D'Cruz and Anees Bazmee and the trio hinted about their 2017 release getting a sequel. Mubarakan part 2 will apparently hit the screens in the next two years and we so don't want it to be a joke.
We don't know about you folks but we were mighty impressed with Arjun Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Ileana DÇruz and Athiya Shetty's Mubarakan that released in 2017. The film revolving around the story of twins was a laughter riot and Anil Kapoor, in particular, had some terrific comic timing. While critics were not really in the favour of this Anees Bazmee directorial and even the box office collections were just above the average, yet we believed it had ample scope to shine. No, as of now there's no official confirmation about the sequel and there are no reports about it being in the pipeline yet if Anil Kapoor's recent joke is to go by, we can expect its second part. It was on this day (July 28, 2017) when Mubarakan had hit the screens and today marks its second anniversary (July 28, 2019). Anil took to his Instagram account to share a video with director Bazmee and Ileana DÇruz to celebrate the occasion and tease us about the film's sequel. In his conversation with Anees Bazmee, Anil mentions about Mubarakan 2 coming in the next couple of years and we wonder if it was an announcement of some sorts. Is the director keen about directing a sequel to this comedy-drama or was it a way to pull our legs and keep us guessing? We don't know but we'd pray for the first part of the previous sentence. And imagine a hypothetical situation where the makers indeed end up planning a sequel, then we wonder if Arjun and Anil Kapoor will reprise their original roles or will it be with a new star cast? With so many questions in our minds, we'll wait for time to answer them all.
