If reports are to be believed then Fanne Khan is having some financial issues. Apparently, the shoot of the movie has been put on hold over non-payment of dues to the crew members. The crew have refused to complete the pending shoot of the movie, till the dues are not cleared out. Fanne Khan is directed by Atul Manjrekar and stars Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajkummar Rao in the lead.
It was Mid-Day who reported this news, in which the blame falls on the co-producers of the movie, Prernaa Arora's KriArj Entertainment. The report quotes an unnamed crew member saying, "The freelancers associated with the project have a contract with KriArj Entertainment. We were told that the payments would come in by early March, but haven't received a penny. So, we've decided not to start work on the next schedule till we get paid. We have given an ultimatum to the producers to clear the dues by April 15." Two songs remain to be completed for the movie.
However, the movie's other co-producer, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Pictures, is singing a different tune. Rajiv Tandon of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Pictures tells Mid-Day, "I am personally looking into payments and there isn't any delay from our end." Elaborating on why the movie's shoot is halted, he continued, "We were working towards getting a particular choreographer on board. That took a while. The shoot is lined up for April 24 to May 7."
We don't know which version to believe. KriArj Entertainment has been accused of non-payment of dues in past, with the most recent example being Parmanu. John Abraham's production house had terminated its contract with them over this, leading to an ugly legal battle between the producers. Earlier, there were rumours that even Shahid Kapoor's Batti Gul Meter Chalu had some financial woes thanks to similar issues, and even that was produced by KriArj.
