Sriram Raghavan's Andhadhun, which released in China last month, is still getting cash registers ringing at the country's domestic box office. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte in the lead, the film released across 5000 screens in China and has been minting big money non-stop since the very first day. After entering the Rs 100 crore club within six days and then reaching the Rs 200 crore mark, Andhadhun has now surpassed the Rs 300 crore in China and has become the third highest grossing Indian film ever. Despite stiff competition from Avengers: Endgame, the black comedy thriller is still drawing the audience and that's mighty impressive. Announcing the updated figures, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the microblogging site Twitter and wrote, "#AndhaDhun crosses $ 47 million in #China... Slowed down since #AvengersEndgame release, hence $ 50 million was ruled out... But the job is done... Third highest grossing *Indian film* in #China... Total till 2 May 2019: $ 47.29 million [₹ 327.67 cr]."
Andhadhun, which came out in India last year, has been released as Piano Player in China. The movie revolves around a piano player who pretends to be blind. Things turn ugly when he witnesses a murder but is unable to do anything about it. In India, the film was appreciated by the critics and the audience alike and went on to become one of the biggest hits of 2018. Produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Matchbox Pictures, Raghavan's directorial venture minted a little over Rs 75 in India before ending its theatrical run.
