Amitabh Bachchan was to be honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the 2019 National Film Awards to be held tomorrow. But alas, the megastar won't be able to make it. Tweeting about the same, the actor wrote, "Down with fever .. ! Not allowed to travel .. will not be able to attend National Award tomorrow in Delhi .. so unfortunate .. my regrets .." We are pretty sure like us he too is really sad about the turn of events. But health comes first. Amitabh Bachchan Meets Polish Nobel Prize Winner in Wroclaw
Others, namely Ayushmann Khurrana and Vicky Kaushal who share the National Film Award For Best Actor category will apparently be there. We hear President of India Ramnath Kovind won't be handing out the awards to the winners this time and instead Vice President Vankiah Naidu will take it forward. The President is expected to host a Hi-tea session for the winners as per a PTI report.

Recently, Amitabh Bachchan gave us a scare when he hinted about retiring in one of his blog posts due to his health. So we strongly believe Bachchan has taken the right decision to sit at home and take care of himself instead of travelling to Delhi to receive the honour. We are sure the government will understand.
