Amitabh Bachchan and his often mysterious ways of tweeting have once again given Twitterati to make fun of the Bollywood legend. In the evening of January 5, shocking reports came in that a group of about 100 persons wearing masks entered the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus and attacked the students there. Though the Delhi police, who have been accused of letting the perpetrators go scot-free, are yet to identify the miscreants, the students and the professors under attack have alleged that it was the members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) who were behind the attacks. ABVP, in turn, alleges that it was the Leftist party who attacked some of their members. Masked Men Unleash Violence on JNU Campus, Police Stage Flag March; Oppn Blames Govt.
Whatever the case is, the incident has caused a serious outrage in the country. Several film industry celebs like Anurag Kashyap, Jaaved Jaaferi, Swara Bhasker, Vishal Bharadwaj, Kritika Kamra etc have spoken against the attack. However, at the time of writing this article, the biggies like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Deepika Padukone were yet to say anything on this. And then there is Amitabh Bachchan, who around 1 am on January 6, tweeted just an emoji of folded hands.
Check out his tweet below:
T 3602 - 🙏
— Amitabh Bachchan (@SrBachchan) January 5, 2020
This tweet was posted right when people were figuring out what exactly had happened in JNU and were outraged over the violence. Amitabh Bachchan provided no context to why he tweeted this emoji, but it triggered some very mocking reactions from the Twitterati who trolled the superstar for silence over the incident.
Check out some of the reactions below:
Take a Hike to Panama!
Even @SrBachchan is asking for forgiveness for not being able to speak out on #JNUattack - such is the pressure.
Its ok Sir - there are enough young angry men in India.
U please relax - take a break to maybe #Panama ??? https://t.co/hYtjZdgply

Brutal
Shove that up your a**, Bachchan.
You have fallen from India's eyes.
You may never redeem yourself.
Never.
We'd never have known if this didn't happen in your lifetime.
It would be better if you didn't tweet at all tonight. Or ever.
You're a waste of a sentient creature. https://t.co/GwrmdkIfVd

Well, we are still figuring out what Amitabh Bachchan wants to convey to his fans with his tweet. His closeness to the ruling BJP government being an open secret, we certainly do not expect the tweet has anything to do with the JNU incident. Any thoughts?
