The legendary superstar Amitabh Bachchan has added one more feather to his hat. Going by the latest news, the megastar who is worshiped in Bollywood and across will be awarded with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Spreading the news on the web, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar took to his Twitter account and posted, "The legend Amitabh Bachchan who entertained and inspired for 2 generations has been selected unanimously for #DadaSahabPhalke award. The entire country and international community is happy. My heartiest Congratulations to him. @narendramodi @SrBachchan.
FYI, the first ever awardee of this recognition was none other than actress Devika Rani. As of 2017, there have been 49 awardees. Naming a few, the list of includes actor Prithviraj Kapoor (1971), Vinod Khanna (2017), Manna Dey (2007), Shashi Kapoor (2014) and Shyam Benegal (2005). Senior Bachchan has a huge fan following and there is no doubt about it. His acting prowess in films like Sholay, Deewar, Zanjeer is still remembered by Bollywood buffs. Not just this, the actor also made into Hollywood and has made India proud time and again. Dadasaheb Phalke award was instituted in honour of the legendary film producer-director, also known as Father of Indian cinema.
