Amitabh Bachchan is considered a living legend now when it comes to Indian cinema, but like many of us even he has seen struggles and rejections at the start of his career. We have heard of his famous tale of rejection by All India Radio (AIR) because of his trademark thick baritone. Later he made his debut as a leading man in the historical drama Saat Hindustani but that movie tanked at the box office.
Amitabh Bachchan later did quite a few supporting roles and as a leading man in lesser known movies, before his cop act in Prakash Mehra's Zanjeer. And then there was no turning back as Big B has now ruled the industry for five decades (with a short hiatus in the '90s). But Mr Bachchan hasn't forgotten about the rejections he faced at the start of his career, and now he has solved the mystery of that.
Recently Amitabh Bachchan shared an old 'application' picture of his lanky younger version from 1968 which he claims was the reason why he faced so many rejections. See the picture below,
Well, the producers then had some really poor taste in finding talent, we must say.
Amitabh Bachchan was recently in news when he fell unwell during a shoot in Jodhpur and a team of doctors rushed to the place to take care of the actor. However, the committed actor was soon back to his feet and he resumed shoot. He will be seen in this year's biggest Bollywood movie, Thugs of Hindostan along with Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh. There is also 102 Not Out where he plays Rishi Kapoor's father. And then there is Brahmastra, the fantasy adventure with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. All in all, a very busy time for Big B.
