Amitabh Bachchan has finally gotten into the spirit of the #MeToo movement that is on the rise in India, at least on social media. Maybe inspired by his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai or it was the spirit of his 76th birthday, Amitabh Bachchan has come out in support of the #MeToo movement and spoke against sexual harassment, especially at work-places a woman goes through. The veteran superstar had shared an interview on his Twitter timeline. In that interview, when he was asked about #MeToo, Amitabh answered, "No woman should ever be subjected to any kind of misbehaviour, or disorderly conduct ; especially at her work place. Such acts should immediately be brought to the notice of concerned authorities, and corrective measures be taken, either through filing complaints or a recourse to law. However, we are not sure whether the feminists would agree with the next part of the answer that he gave. He added, "Women, children and the weaker sections of our society are the most vulnerable. They need to be under special protective care. It has been most heartening to see women representations in most work vocations, on the increase in our country. It would be an unrepairable blemish if we are not able to provide them the welcome they deserve and the dignity of the security of their presence."

Interestingly, when he was asked about the Tanushree Dutta-Nana Patekar row, Amitabh Bachchan has infamously said that he was neither Tanushree nor Nana to answer on this. Wonder what prompted him to change his stance here!
