In what can be called an exact role reversal, the popular Amercian rapper T-Pain is getting attention for a bad reason. Generally, Bollywood music composers find their 'inspiration' in the tune of their counterparts from Hollywood. This is one of those rare occasions when a Bollywood music Mithun composer is ensuring that Hollywood mighty T-Pain realises the folly of his ways...errr or his music producer's way, so to speak.
B-town music aficionados swoon over Mithun's original composition Tum Hi Ho that featured in Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor starrer Aashiqui 2. The song is a major hit and there are no counter-opinions on that. But controversies are galore as the flute tune of the same number features in T-Pain's creation That's Yo Money! Leading Indian tabloid Mumbai Mirror reported the news.
Sir, the melody that you have used in your new song is my original work for a previously released Hindi film..The Label is looking into this.#tumhiho #Aashiqui2 https://t.co/5fnDf4sfg7

Apparently, the song was taken off the YouTube channel, but it was still floating around in web space as indeed on various streaming sites. T-Pain in his explanation clarifies that he had no idea about the original source of the song. It was Mithoon who brought it to T-Pain's notice about an apparent case of Plagiarism via his Tweet.
Woke up to getting dragged by brown twitter. Sooooo yea. I definitely didn’t produce this song. Had no idea that was a sample and have never heard the music before I got the beat from the producer. Easy thing to work out. The labels will be in contact. Thanx

In a tweet on Saturday, T-Pain stated he had not developed the tune. He also clarified that he had got it from the song’s producer (Bishop Jones). The “labels will be in contact”, he maintained.
The rapper said that he was being trolled by “brown twitter” over his number. T-pain also shared a racist and abusive post he had received from a Twitterati who identified himself as an Indian. That account has since been suspended.
