Never judge a book by its cover. But it is so tough to not do that when the cover is just so blah. The first trailer of the upcoming horror film Amavas released today. The movie stars Nargis Fakhri and Sachiin Joshi in lead roles. The supporting cast has a stellar actress like Mona Singh, who has shown us her strength in the genre with her TV show, Kavach. The new footage is less than two minutes long, has a good portion dedicated to the romance between the two leads. It is a horror movie, guys. Let us focus on that, maybe? Point in case is the beautifully edited trailer of Tumbbad - a good mix of horror and drama.
The horror part that did make its way to the trailer of Amavas is not impressive at all. Nothing we have not seen before a hundred times. The graphics look no better than an episode of Aahat. And we get to zero clues about the story. We are all up for a trailer not revealing the story at all like in the case of Pari trailer, Amavas is a bit of a stretch here. But again, never judge a book by its cover is the motto here. So, we are going to watch Amavas in the theatres. And if the history of horror movies at the box office is something to go by, you guys will watch it as well. Bhushan Patel's previous horror movies like Alone, 1920: Evil Returns and Ragini MMS 2 were able to bring back the COP with profits. So, there is no way this one won't work either.
