Soni Razdan's No Fathers in Kashmir should be ideally making headlines for its beautiful content. But sadly, the movie is still waiting for a go-ahead from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Directed by Oscar nominee, Ashvin Kumar, No Fathers in Kashmir is a  coming-of-age love story revolving around two teenagers who lose their father after they are picked up by the armed forces. And the same storyline is giving some sleepless nights for its makers after CBFC denied giving it a U censorship certificate. While many Bollywood celebs earlier slammed the authoritative body, Alia recently tweeted to CBFC to lift its ban from her mother's controversial project. Alia Bhatt’s Mother Soni Razdan Joins #MeToo Movement, Says She Was Almost Raped.

In her tweet, the Brahmastra actress requested CBFC to laud the efforts of the movie's team and consider its decision. Was soo looking forward to mom's @nofathers_movie #nofathersinkashmir!! @Soni_Razdan @ashvinkumar & team worked super hard for this honest teens love story in Kashmir. Really hope the CBFC would #lifttheban. It’s a film about empathy & compassion..let’s give love a chance! tweetd Alia while supporting her mother dearest. Alia Bhatt Lauds Mommy Soni Razdan's Performance in 'Yours Truly' At the Kolkata International Film Festival.

The movie earlier received an A certificate from the censor body, however, the director was firm on getting a 'U' for it.  Ashvin Kumar known for directing films like Little Terrorist said that movie didn’t have any nude or vulgar scenes, and hence, he took his fight forward to FCAT and appealed against the fact it got an A certificate. However, he is still juggling between the demands of the two bodies, which are reportedly ordering fresh cuts.
