Alia Bhatt on Her Absence During Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Maybe in the Future There Could be Dual Citizenship

The phase 4 of 2019 Lok Sabha Elections took place recently in Mumbai. With great enthusiasm, Mumbaikars flooded the polling booths to cast their vote. Also, the city is home to many Bollywood stars so they too were spotted at various centers as they came to vote. However, some of them were confused on Alia Bhatt's status! The Brahmastra actress holds a British passport and hence she is not eligible to vote in India. On this, Alia recently gave her reaction. Speaking of it at a recent event, she said, "We would, of course, love to vote, but it is a situation in which technically it is not possible right now. Hopefully, maybe in the future, there could be dual citizenship could happen. But I am very glad that everybody went out in such big numbers."

Not just Alia Bhatt but Akshay Kumar too can't vote as he holds the Canadian citizenship. He was in fact trolled by the Twitter users for the same, keeping in mind the patriotic films that he does. At a recent event, he was asked about the same and he walked out angrily on asked. He simply said, "chaliye beta" and smiled and stormed out with irritation visible on his face. On the other hand, Deepika Padukone who is born in Copenhagen, Denmark, shut the trolls by posting her 'inked' finger after voting.
